This person will be responsible for leading Realty Income's global compliance efforts regarding fund management and regulated financial / investment services (e.g. lending). This is a new role in a new team at Realty Income within the Legal & Compliance department, and there is an exciting opportunity to (re)design Fund & Real Estate Financial Services Compliance in a listed company and commercial environment.What you will be working on:Regulatory Compliance

  • Acting as the (Chief) Compliance Officer with relevant regulators (e.g. the SEC, CSSF, FCA) or coordinating any externally appointed Compliance Officer of a regulated entity.
  • Preparing and submitting reports to the relevant regulator(s), or assisting any externally appointed Compliance Officer to do so.
  • Liaising with relevant regulator(s) or investors as the primary point of contact for Realty Income on regulatory compliance, including new regulatory applications and investments.Compliance Advisory & Operations
    • Providing daily advice across the business on all areas of Fund / Real Estate Finance regulation, including policies and procedures.
    • Developing and implementing policies and procedures on Funds / Real Estate Finance regulation in line with Realty Income's compliance framework.
    • Monitoring portfolio and risk management activity including KPIs / KRIs and other service-level agreements with outsourced providers.Compliance Risk Management & Assurance
      • Running annual or scheduled assessments of Fund & Real Estate financial regulatory risks to help develop policies, procedures and controls.
      • Undertaking Fund / Regulatory Compliance 2nd line reviews, supporting Fund & Regulatory internal audits, and overseeing management action plans.Compliance Investigation & Awareness
        • Dealing with escalations, investigations and root-cause analysis into incidents and breaches, and presenting findings to relevant departments / groups.
        • Organizing and delivering training (in-person, online, audio), guidance documents, and communications on Fund & Real Estate Financial Regulatory areas.The VP of Fund & Regulatory Compliance will work closely with Realty Income's Corporate Legal, Corporate Finance, Internal Audit, Funds, and Investment teams. The role is part the new Global Compliance team comprising the Global Head of Compliance, Director of Anti-Financial Crime Compliance, and Director of Central Compliance, and the individual will coordinate with these colleagues on Fund & Regulatory Compliance initiatives and requirements so there is a unified approach. Other key business stakeholders will include Finance & Accounting, People Success and outsourced business partners globally. The candidate should expect to lead relationships with relevant regulators on Fund & Real Estate Financial Services Compliance (including financial regulators such as the SEC, CSSF).What you need to be successful:
          • Bachelor's degree is required.
          • A professional legal qualification is required (licensed to practice in the USA).
          • Previous accreditation/approval or experience as a (Chief) Compliance Officer in a financially regulated entity in the USA.
          • Deep experience and expertise in US Funds / Financial Services (e.g. Investment Company Act of 1940, as well as Securities Act of 1933, Securities Exchange Act of 1934, and related rules, regulations, guidance) is required, international subject matter expertise (e.g. AIFMD) is beneficial.
          • We expect 12+ years' experience in a financially regulated organization focused on asset / fund management.
          • Previous people management experience is preferable as the team grows.
          • A professional compliance qualification (e.g. Investment Adviser Certified Compliance Professional (IACCP, Certified Securities Compliance Professional (NSCP), Series 14 or equivalent (FINRA)), is highly preferred.This is a hybrid role, with Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays required in-office.The pay range for this role is $160,583 - $221,119 - $290,124Offers near the high end are uncommon but may be considered for candidates with exceptional experience and skills and are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. You may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and an annual discretionary stock award, to be discussed during the interview process. An annual pay rate and total compensation package is generally determined by the candidate's experience, knowledge, education, skills, performance, and abilities, as well as internal equity, company performance, and alignment with market data.Most US based full-time and part-time roles come with flexible schedules.
