X and YouTube. Job Description AbbVie is seeking a driven and
innovative Scientist II, In Vitro Pharmacology, to join the
mRNA-tLNP group. The Scientist II, In Vitro Pharmacology, will
develop and perform cell-based assays to generate data that advance
mRNA-tLNP pipeline programs from early discovery through
IND-enabling studies, with an emphasis on applications in oncology
and autoimmune diseases. Responsibilities Lead the design,
optimization, and execution of in vitro assays to evaluate
mRNA-tLNP-mediated T-cell reprogramming, including assessment of
cytotoxicity, T-cell effector function, and immune cell
phenotyping. Develop and deliver high-quality in vitro data
packages to drive progression of the in vivo mRNA-tLNP pipeline
programs, proactively leveraging cross-functional expertise by
collaborating closely with research, bioinformatics, translational,
and project management teams. Actively pursue mastery of innovative
experimental techniques and emerging scientific tools to enhance
scientific rigor, while serving as a subject matter resource and
mentor to teammates, fostering a culture of continuous learning and
knowledge sharing within the group. Exhibit and maintain a high
level of technical proficiency and scientific acumen within the
field of in vitro pharmacology, demonstrating expertise in
experimental design, data interpretation, and troubleshooting.
Independently establish, monitor, and deliver on project milestones
and experimental timelines, ensuring alignment with program goals
and organizational priorities, while maintaining flexibility to
adapt to evolving scientific needs. Organize, analyze, and
synthesize complex scientific data, and effectively communicate
experimental strategies, results, and interpretations to internal
and external stakeholders through clear and impactful presentations
and scientific reports. Make substantive contributions to
scientific publications, patent applications, and conference
presentations by providing conceptual input, technical writing,
data analysis, and critical review, in alignment with AbbVie's
standards of scientific excellence and innovation. Qualifications
BS or equivalent education with typically 7 or more years of
experience or MS or equivalent education with typically 5 or more
years of experience, in immunology, cell and molecular biology or
related field. Demonstrated ability to independently design,
perform, and interpret key experiments to address scientific
questions. Proven capacity to quickly learn and apply new
laboratory techniques. Able to manage multiple tasks efficiently
while meeting deadlines. Strong skills in scientific writing and
verbal communication. Previous experience in chimeric antigen
receptor (CAR) production and evaluation is desirable. Deep
expertise in primary human T-cell biology, including isolation,
activation, and specialized expansion protocols, cytotoxicity,
proliferation and cytokine profiling. Mastery of high-parameter
flow cytometry (panel design and data deconvolution) and molecular
techniques such as ddPCR or RT-qPCR. Experience with scientific
data analysis software including CellEngine and Tableau is
