Job Description Job Description Job Title: Analytical Scientist II Job Description As an Analytical Chemistry Scientist II within the Reagent Development Services - Analytical Method Development and Transfer group, you will work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment supporting formulation development, stability testing, and quality control of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products. This role emphasizes hands-on analytical method development and transfer in a regulated setting. Responsibilities Plan and execute laboratory experiments under general guidance. Qualify, validate, and transfer analytical methods in compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements (FDA 21 CFR Part 11, ISO). Analyze data, troubleshoot issues, and draw sound scientific conclusions. Prepare protocols, reports, and assay work instructions. Maintain excellent lab documentation in accordance with GDP. Collaborate cross-functionally and contribute to a positive team culture. Manage priorities to meet aggressive project timelines. Essential Skills Proficiency in chemistry and analytical techniques. Hands-on experience with chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques such as HPLC/UHPLC, LC-MS, CE, UV, and fluorescence-based assays. Application of GMP and GDP principles. Ability to analyze complex datasets and troubleshoot aberrant results. Strong understanding of validation principles for regulated industries (FDA cGMP, ICH/USP, ANSI/ISO/ASQC). Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience in analytical method development, qualification, validation, and transfer. Hands-on experience with NMR, fluorescence plate readers, and enzymology assays. Highly organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and adaptable. Ability to multitask between lab work and multiple projects. Willingness to adjust work hours when project needs require. Work Environment This is an onsite laboratory environment with a strong emphasis on collaboration, scientific rigor, and documentation quality. The team operates in a dynamic, deadline-driven setting supporting multiple projects, with standard daytime hours and occasional flexibility to meet project demands. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of San Diego, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.50 - $44.25/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
