Job Description:
Position SummaryThe RD Technician will be an analytical,
innovative person with interests and experience in beverage
development. We are looking for a passionate person to support
product development in the growth of the better for you beverage
category. Responsibilities to include participation in ideation and
product development with cross functional departments, laboratory
and production scale experiments, ingredient evaluation and
sourcing, cost saving initiatives, and new product
developments.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesKeep up to date
on current and upcoming food/bev trends, nutrition, and novel
ingredients. Evaluate new ingredients and finished products to
specifications.Compile and analyze (statistically / mathematically
and/or graphically) test results; prepare findings for the
team.Benchtop formula development / production scale
trials.Nutritional and Supplement fact panel creation within
Genesis program.Consult with production team on process solutions
for operations.Communicate with suppliers to source new
ingredients.Support and oversee co-manufacturing of new products
outside of core competencies.Maintain RD lab inventories and
processes.Job QualificationsA BS degree in Food Science, Culinary
Arts, or other related subjects preferred.1-4 years of experience
in food/beverage industry. Preferred experience in a food/beverage
development environment.Strong understanding of taste, flavors, and
food pairings. An understanding of chemistry, composition,
nutrition, and regulations as it relates to food and beverage.
Developed lexicon for sensory description and ability to
communicate flavor. Knowledge of Organic/conventional global
produce, herbs, and spices.Excellent oral, written and presentation
communication skills required. Computer literate; competent in
excel, word, powerpoint. Spanish is a plus.Work collaboratively
with RD team and cross-functional partners. Comfortable reaching
out via email/phone to suppliers, copackers, and industry contacts
as needed. Able to prioritize tasks and manage productivity
independently. Flexible and diligent to perform given short
deadlines.Self-motivated, strong attention to detail and follow up.
Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Displays
integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Ethical and
compassionate.
