Job Description:
DescriptionThe Food and Beverage Business Leader for the
California Regional Office is responsible for the overall business
line development, managerial direction, profitability, and
leadership of the Food and Beverage Business Line within our
California regional office and other areas as required by Global
Facilities practice. This position will build and grow the client
base and team members necessary to run a profitable Engineer
Procure and Construct (EPC) business line. As a leader, they will
develop a culture based on Burns & McDonnell's core values of

outstanding service. This includes supporting and executing
business strategy, delivering solutions, developing
high-performance teams, and promoting the Burns & McDonnell
culture, values, and mission.Roles & Responsibilities:
- Provide Business Development leadership for Food and Beverage
within the region and execute a national market strategy.
- Manage and lead employee-owners, including assigning project
work and reviewing performance to ensure quality and
efficiency.
- Identify client and project opportunities; manage efforts for
submittals, proposals, presentations, contract negotiations, and
related activities.
- Identify key recruiting needs and lead all California Food &
Beverage recruiting activities.
- Lead development of clients and opportunities through the Burns
& McDonnell network, including contract review, negotiations, and
risk assessments focusing on EPC project delivery.
- Utilize Burns & McDonnell's network to find the best value
solutions for clients, including self-perform entities and other
capabilities.
- Develop and communicate business objectives and future vision
for the team.
- Establish project teams, coordinate activities across
disciplines, and ensure efficient, cost-effective staff utilization
while meeting contractual and performance standards.
- Demonstrate creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in
problem-solving.
- Negotiate prime service contracts, subcontracts, and change
orders with management input.
- Manage financial results, preconstruction services, project
management, cost control, and client satisfaction.
- Contribute to the managerial direction of design-build
functions supporting Food and Beverage.
- Support the development of the California Global Facilities and
Business Line business plan.
- Serve as project manager for key and new clients, especially
during new business development.
- Communicate project status, risks, forecasts, and costs to
stakeholders.
- Maintain relationships with subcontractors, vendors, partners,
and clients.
- Foster ongoing communication between stakeholders and business
partners.
- Identify early project opportunities and facilitate go/no-go
decisions with leadership.
- Work with internal design and construction teams to ensure
client success.
- Oversee preparation and approval of internal reports; present
project status and financial performance to executive
management.
- Provide performance feedback to project team members.
- Recommend organizational changes to meet objectives
effectively.
- Ensure compliance with safety policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or architecture from an
accredited program.
- Minimum 7 years of related professional experience (10-15
preferred), including architectural/engineering design and project
management, with at least 5 years in EPC-related construction.
Experience in food and beverage sectors is strongly preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal skills,
and the ability to present complex information effectively.
- Ability to influence, lead, and manage change positively.
- Strong project management skills and strategic
perspective.
- Professional engineer or architecture license is strongly
preferred.Compensation$110,000.00 - $350,000.00 annually.
Compensation includes base salary and potential participation in a
discretionary year-end bonus program, based on experience and other
