Balfour Beatty Construction is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our team in San Diego, CA. This position is responsible for the overall direction, completion, and financial outcome of a construction project. The Senior Project Manager directs activities related to contract administration, change orders, submittals, procurement, project financial projections, and schedule requirements to ensure projects are completed with quality, profitability, and adherence to our Safety/Zero Harm culture.Essential Functions

• Safety: ZERO HARM
• Lead, oversee, and educate owners, subcontractors, team members, and the community on the Zero Harm safety culture and its benefits.
• Conduct project safety walks, participate in safety meetings, and incident investigations.
• Ensure safety is incorporated into job planning and execution.
• Business Development: assist in project pursuits, develop and maintain relationships with clients, attend industry events, and support networking efforts.
• Manage project financial responsibilities, including budgeting, subcontractor contracting, cost projections, and financial reporting.
• Coordinate preconstruction activities, assist with estimates, constructability reviews, and logistical planning.
• Create project budgets, scope writing, review contracts, negotiate agreements, and identify risks.
• Lead project startup, planning, scheduling, delay tracking, procurement, and develop schedule management strategies.
• Oversee project administration, operations, and close-out activities, including stakeholder meetings, change order processes, and project documentation.
• Build effective teams, foster a positive culture, and mentor staff. Provide feedback and participate in performance reviews.
• Qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, with at least ten years of experience in commercial construction project management, supervisory experience, and proficiency with construction management tools and software.Preferred Requirements
  • Experience with DSA/Public Works, OSHA 30 certification, and professional certifications like DBIA and CCM are preferred but not required.
