barriers to employment.OverviewPOSITION SUMMARY: Oversees the
Goodwill Industries of San Diego County's (GISD) learning and
development programs and manages the Learning and Development
Coordinator. Promotes, supports, and ensures Department Managers
utilize the Career Pathway Steps program, including three-month
onboarding plans, Leader Classes, and other training opportunities
to develop and advance ambassadors. Collaborates with Human
Resource Recruiters to review and approve qualified candidates for
the Paid Training Program. Communicates with management on the
hiring and training of trainees to monitor progress. Works with the
Learning and Development Coordinator to implement the Paid Training
Program and facilitate the Career Pathway Steps classes, along with
other organizational trainings. Works with the Director of Learning
and Development to assess organizational needs, design, and
implement new training to increase program
effectiveness.ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:To perform this

- Oversees the learning and development programs, including
Onboarding, Career Pathway Steps, Paid Training Program, and other
organizational training.
- Ensures the Career Pathway Program, Paid Training Program, and
other trainings are implemented according to organizational goals
and meet specific outcomes.
- Manages the implementation and execution of the Career Pathways
Leader Steps 1, 2, and 3, and monitors progress. Supports
facilitation of Career Pathway Classes and Corporate
Onboarding.
- Promotes alignment of Career Pathway Leader Step 1 with
organizational goals. Visits sites regularly to support managers in
coaching their ambassadors and achieving department outcomes.
- Assists in facilitating Career Pathway Classes, including
Management Development Program and 7 Habits of Highly Effective
People, among others.
- Recommends curriculum updates and develops new curriculum for
the Career Pathway Program.
- Oversees the administration of the ADP Learning Management
System, ensuring all managers are trained and confident in its use.
Recommends and creates a premium course library to supplement the
program.
- Guides the Learning and Development Coordinator in training and
supporting Learning and Development Trainers, ensuring quality
instruction and effective coaching.
- Supports the training of ambassadors and new hires in
collaboration with the Coordinator.
- Works with the Coordinator to promote the Career Pathways
Program and coaches managers on using the Leader Step 2 class to
prepare ambassadors for supervisory roles.
- Guides the Coordinator in conducting assessments for Paid
Trainees and resolving issues objectively.
- Collaborates with department leaders to support effective
placement in the Paid Training Program.
- Researches educational opportunities and promotes them to
ambassadors, including tuition reimbursement programs.
- Works with Career Advisors and Employment Service Managers to
update and improve workshops offered through Community Employment
Centers.
- Coaches the Learning and Development team on organizational
expectations and core values.
- Provides feedback on new training opportunities and program
improvements, working with leadership to develop organizational
training.
- Ensures training is tailored to adult learners and applicable
in vocational settings.
- Ensures excellent customer service from the Learning and
Development team.
- Stays updated on latest training techniques and
technologies.
- Participates in scheduled department meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.QualificationsSkills &
Abilities:Education: GED or High School diploma required; AA
degree, certification, or equivalent experience (2-year degree
preferred); BA or BS preferred.Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a
related field or 5 years of GISD experience in level 5 or 6
position, or a combination thereof.Computer Skills: Proficiency in
MS Office, MS Project, email, and internet.Certificates and
Licenses: Valid CA driver's license, proof of insurance, and
acceptable driving record.
