This position provides planning, design, and construction engineering support as part of a project team for water, wastewater, and recycled water projects, predominantly focused on treatment-related planning and design. The ideal candidate would be a professional engineer with 10 plus years of experience in treatment and civil engineering. This position will be based out of one of our California offices with work-from-home flexibility available. -Our WorkOur engineering work specific to water and wastewater treatment facilities is particularly exciting and rewarding. Our smaller and nimble team structure allow us to fill a market inefficiency and typically our proposals have limited to no competition, which leads to a high proposal win rate. Our experience has found most water and wastewater treatment engineering services have been consolidated to either larger firms and/or specialized firms, leaving a hole for our team to fill in the small to mid-sized treatment plant market (up to 15 MGD capacity). Our high-quality work has led to long-lasting and rewarding relationships with agencies who appreciate our custom engineered solutions for their needs after being overlooked and/or underserved by bigger firms. We typically get involved with our clients at the planning stage and work with them through planning, design, and construction to see projects through from start to finish. We emphasize collaboration with our clients operations and maintenance staff to provide engineering solutions that meet their needs within the available budget.Our typical work contracts vary from small planning and feasibility studies to large $1M+ design contracts. We strive to develop strong, long-lasting relationships with good, reasonable clients who appreciate our work and expertise. Leading the planning and analysis of water, wastewater and/or recycled water treatment processes and facilities, including capacity analysis, facility plans, alternatives analysis, condition assessment, process evaluations, risk assessment, operations and maintenance assessments.Leading the design of water, wastewater and/or treatment processes and facilities, open channel hydraulics, pump stations, treatment equipment (i.e. screens, clarifiers, blowers, dewatering equipment, filters, among others)Capability to travel within California including but not limited to meeting with clients, plant site walks, attending conferences and professional organization events, and perform project-related field work, as necessary.Leading and overseeing others in providing engineering services during construction, including reviewing contractor RFIs, submittals, change order requests, among others.Training and delegating tasks to Senior Engineers and Project Engineers as necessary in order to balance project work and successfully prepare project deliverables on time and within budget. -Minimum Requirements
Bachelors Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline.10 plus years engineering experience in planning and design of mechanical and treatment related projects.Professional Civil and/or Mechanical Engineer licensed in the State of California. -Preferred Qualifications
